The Joint Aikikai Council (JAC) was formed in 2010 and formally inaugurated in 2013 as a result of the desire of Hombu Recognised Aikido Organisations (HRO,s) within the UK wanting to get together and refocus on their Japanese heritage, rather than allowing diversification and fragmentation to prevail.
A recent strategy to extend this focus on Aikikai Hombu Dojo, its lineage and its instructors as “the standard” for Aikido within the UK has resulted in a bi-annual commitment to host an “open to all” Aikido organisations weekend seminar receiving instruction from a Aikikai Hombu Dojo Instructor.
The Instructor for the JAC 2025 Spring Seminar is therefore Ito 7th Dan Shihan. Ito Shihan embodies the very essence of Aikikai Hombu Dojo whilst also illustrating a mature understanding of Aikido technique, philosophy and the need for personal progression.
The JAC offers its friendship to all Aikidoka with this seminar, with a view to giving them the opportunity to practice with new and old friends, whilst being exposed to direct unfiltered instruction from Aikikai Hombu Dojo through Ito shihan.
